(January 1st. Open to any characters it would make sense to be in Nome. So mostly Balto character.)
Steele was sitting in the center of town. No races were there today. Ears pinned back in the wind, Steele hoped to see some of Balto's brood somewhere in here. He grinned softly. He hoped he could mess with them the way he was supposed to, the way he wanted to.
Yawning and stretching he padded out onto the street. No groupies, no people to greet him.
It was horrible.

A well built, reddish canine that looked much like her mother padded throgh the area, eyes closed without effort and nose raised high, a smile on the dog's muzzle. It was a great day to be out! Today, her human had to go to school, but Dakota didn't mind much. She liked to go out and wander through the streets, and most people around knew who she was, being Balto's daughter, so she knew there would be no dangers around for her.
Once she opened her blue eyes, she caught the sight of a black, big husky who was familiar to her, despite the fact of not having seen him ever in her life.

Eyes blinking softly, the older canine saw the reddish dog near him. He grinned, staring at her. First he thought she was Jenna but then he realized she was one of Balto's brood. His ears flicked back and he grinned, flashing those white canines at the girl.
"Well," he said softly, "Hello there."

Dakota's ears perked as the dog spoke to her, and her blue irises focused on his for a moment. Oh, how she wished she was not as shy as she was. It made her look so stupid. "Uh-umm-err-Hi!" she nervously exclaimed, not identifying the dog by looks. In fact, she didn't even know about Steele's name, she just was told his looks by her father, or she just didn't pay attention to it.
The silence made the girl unconfortable, so she decided to speak again. "My... my name is Dakota. N-nice to meet you!"

Dakota. Very good. Naiive, possibly shy and probably stupid. Steele gave a grin and padded up to the young dog. She was a tad more bulky than him but he towered over her. He was a big dog. His ear flicked back and he ran his tongue across his teeth and gave a laugh.
"Aren't you something," he said, "My name's Steele little lady." He rolled his muscles as he spoke. "What are you doing out here and so...alone?"

Dakota was about to give a step back as Steele approached, all by pure instinct, but something stopped her. Well, Steele didn't seem bad at all. Perhaps it would be good to be a little more social with him. Besides, she had nothing else to do. Her ears pinned shyly, seeing the canine was now close to her. The canine decided it would be nice to answer his question, and so she began. "Well, the person that takes care of me is in school, and her parents are always doing human business. It is really not my thing, but they always leave a window opened and so I sneak out. They'd never notice."
There was a hint of pride in the husky's voice as she spoke, she found it a great act to escape from her house.

Steele gave the girl a smile, false though it was, he was trying to win the daughter of Jenna and Balto over. The girl looked so like her mother. It gave him ideas. His ears flicked up, teeth shining in the sunlight.
"How nice," he said, "How very nice. You come out here often, pretty girl?"

Kiona padded away from her human's home. Her broad paws letting her glide easily over the cold snow. Her dark red pelt rushed towards town. It wasn't as much of a run, but it was nice enough. The cold air not able to get through her natural defenses of long fur and thick lashes. Her fluffy tail streaming behind her. Her pace slowed as she entered the town. No races today, and it might not be for a while. Kiona shrugged to herself, she didn't know the racing schedule that well.
Her white muzzle lifted slightly in the air as the wind blew many scents to her. But she caught two of them, one easily recognizable, the smell similar to her own, the other was one she didn't recognize. Odd seeing how this wasn't quiet the largest town ever. Her brown irises focused on the two shapes before her. Already knowing who the reddish one was, but trying to distinguish the black one. She carefully padded closer, coming up behind her sister. Confusion spread quickly on her face but was suppressed. Who was this male? Maybe a new sled dog?
She hadn't caught his name as she approached, but she quietly went to Dakota's side. Her head cocked to the right, her tail brushing the soft snow, creating a tiny flurry behind her.

Dakota nodded in response to Steele. "Oh yes, sir, I come here quite often. Almost everyday, actually, as when my human leaves to school I have nothing interesting to do at home." She said, and, as soon as Steele gave her a compliment, the white on her face turned a pinkish color. Then, another scent was caught by her ebony nose, and her ears twitched as a new precensce sat beside her. It was easy for Dakota to recognize her sister, Kiona. She gave her a welcoming smile and turned to Steele.
"And this is my sister, Kiona. Kiona, this is Mr. Steele. He is a quite nice dog." The red canine said happily.

Quite a nice dog? Balto's brood was dumber than the male canine thought. His ears flicked back and he grinned softly at the females. Two females of Balto's brood. Perhaps he could start a new pack, a new set of groupies. He snickered softly and paced around the females.
"Well, well, well," he said, "What pretty little girls we have here. Aren't you ladies something else for this old dog's eyes."

Kiona looked over the black male's form, as if making her own opinion on her sister's words. The male was quiet large, his fur thick, his gnarled muzzle long, his eyes almost appeared narrowed. Kiona inclined her head to the male.
"Hello Steele." her light tone was smooth, and she raised her chin a little higher, her eyelids drooped a little over her eye, her expression was almost like her mother's, something girl would have taken pride in. Her father's nose was evident, as her own curled a little more upward than most. As the dog stood, something sparked in the back of her head. But the spark quickly died into embers, that glowed only faintly.
Her eyes watched Steele's large form as he circled Dakota and her. Her ears and eyes following the brute from their corners. At the male's compliment she fought the unnatural rush of blood to her cheeks. Eying the male curiously but tentatively.
"Something else, huh?" she spoke slowly as if cautioning herself with her almost whispered words.

What had led the dark-haired woman to such a cold place? Natural sense of curiosity? A desire to see the world? Or, was it simply the fact that she didn't want to just barge in on Rapunzel's happily ever after just yet? It could have been all of those things. Whatever it was that had led her there, Gothel found herself in Alaska. For once she wasn't just wearing her usual attire, having prepared herself for the colder weather, and was wearing additional clothing. Namely she was wearing a thick coat on over her usual red dress and black gloves to protect her hands from the cold. Hopefully she was doing a good job of blending in.
As she walked through the town, Gothel didn't really pay much heed to anything that was going on. The people in the town just didn't interest her. Then again, Gothel really didn't know anyone. Who was she to just waltz up to someone and start a conversation, anyway? No, instead Gothel found her attention drawn to a group of dogs. One in particular stood out, and that was the large black and white husky that seemed to be conversing with puppies. Intrigued, Gothel moved closer to the group. However, she didn't move close enough to make herself readily noticed. She wanted to find out what was going on without having to make her presence known just yet.

Meanwhile a small very beautiful looking girl had decided to explore Nome. Maybe find the next dog who could be a champion. Till just then her eyes were set on Steele. She sighs why did she still have feelings for this guy? Not only was he a liar and a cheat and basically a stone cold idiot. He never once gave her even a sidewards glance. It was always about Jenna. Jenna, Jenna, Jenna. Dixie didn't like to admit this but could it be possible that she felt jealous of her best friend.
" Gosh, he is so hot" She said more to herself with another sigh. Till just then she noticed Jenna's pups. What could Steele possibly want with them? Just to be on the safe side she decided to walk up to Jenna's pups and Steele. "Hello Steele" She said sounding more dreamy instead of neutral as she had planned.

Steele was about to respond when he stared forward with blue eyes and saw the smaller purple dog before him. His ears pinned back and he frowned before speaking. Would Dixie give him away to Balto's pups. Lifting a paw in surprise he smiled at Dixie.
"Dixie," she said, "Hello there." He growled seductively. Perhaps Dixie would forget about what he had done if he just flirted with her. He noted a human somewhere in the area by scent but couldn't figure out where the scent was coming from.

Maybe it was because she never got that much attention from Steele with Jenna being around. But, Steele's little trick worked. She wasn't gonna tell Jenna anything. She couldn't even if she could. She had no idea what Steele was doing. To a small degree she didn't like the sound of this. He knew these were Jenna's pups and he hated Jenna. It was more then likely some dangerous trick. But, his Seductiveness made her feel so care free that at this point she didn't care. Not until she knew exactly what Steele's real intentions were.
She tittered a little and then walks up to Steele and rubs against him a little. "Haven't seen ya around to much " Dixie said looking at him with a flirtatious little smile.
