Gothel, of course, had stayed back during the conversation. She hadn't felt much like interrupting, perhaps too intrigued by the fact that she could understand what the dogs were saying, and was clearly interested in learning more about Steele. It seemed he wasn't exactly 'Mr. Popular' around town anymore. Perhaps they were kindred spirits in that sense. Gothel had been about to take a step forward, meaning to go in Steele's direction, but it seemed he had beaten her to the punch and was heading right toward her. Perfect. she thought.
"Seems to me that things aren't going your way today." Gothel observed with a casual sort of tone. "Bad luck, really. Things were going smoothly up until just a few moments ago, at least so far as I can tell." she said.

Steele had almost walked past the woman. He stopped, ears flicking upward, surprised. This human was speaking to him? Why? He stopped and turned to the woman. Dark hair, pale skin, lovely eyes. She was lovely for a human.
Playing the good obedient dog he walked over to the woman, smiled and sat down in front of her. Not speaking yet, as he didn't know if she could understand him, he wagged his tail, barked and grinned up at her. Almost as if in his canine way he was agreeing with her.

Yareli had her fill of what ever scrapes she found in the garbage can shakeing her pelt free of trash she steps into the street looking around carefully her paws crunch on the snowly ground as she catches scent of Steele and Gothel. the she-wolf cocks her head feeling a bit more braver she slowly slinks along the side of a building finally stopping to watch the husky and the women interact with intrest.

Gothel smiled as well, pleased to see the dog wasn't afraid to interact with her, and gently rubbed him behind the ears. He hadn't spoken yet. That was to be expected, she supposed. Gothel couldn't quite explain just why she could understand what the dogs were talking about, perhaps it was a benefit of being resurrected, but she was interested to see if Steele could understand her. "You don't have to restrain yourself to barking. I can understand you just fine without that." Gothel stated. "Though, it would be best not to ask how that is. I don't quite understand it, myself." she admitted.

Hunter found a group of canines talking amongst themselves and assumed it would be the perfect time to make his entrance. He had spent countless days traveling around and attempting to find himself a mate and settle down. Perhaps have some Mini-Hunters somewhere down the road. Unfortunately, Hunter was a weakling and a disgrace to wolf-kind. Who would want a scrawny, pathetic little thing like him?
Still, Hunter knew it wouldn’t hurt to make some friends. Without wasting any more time Hunter hopped over to the congregation of canines and offered a toothy grin. “HI!” he said, wagging his tail. He offered a smile to the woman, assuming she wouldn't hurt him due to the way she was treating the black and white Husky.

Kiona nodded to her mother, " He was only asking questions, nothing that seemed vitally important or specific." she nodded gratefully to her mother's friend. She turned to glance behind her, curious as Steele had not made it to far away. She turned her head again, and a huge wolf was there. An exuberant smile on his face. She skittered back in surprise. "Oh... erm.. hi?" she looked to her mother and sister. A friendly wolf, one probably not native to here... "Uhm... wolf." she muttered, unable to grab a good pairing of words. (ooc: Sneaking on for hw break ^^

if that crazed wolf can go right up to a human then so can i Yareli thought to herself and trots on over towards Hunter "Hello there" she said her concentration focused on the other wolf. she then noticed the others she nods her dark brown head in greeting. "your new around here right? i've never seen you in Aleu's pack before" she studys Hunter.

“No need to be nervous.” Hunter chuckled. “I won’t bite! Unless you pull my tail or punch my nose. Then I have to bite you so we could be even.” The wolf plopped his butt on the ground and smiled at Kiona. “I’ve never seen a red wolf before. What’s your name?”
Head turned in the direction of another voice. Unlike the red husky, this one looked more like himself. “Hello. Yes, I’m new around here. I’m searching for a new home.” Head tilted when the other wolf mentioned ‘Aleu’. “Aleu? Who’s she?” he asked.

"a new home?" she echoed him "did the hunters with guns get your pack to?" he said stepping around Hunter sniffing him. "aleu is...was my pack leader you see we went across the ocean on the ice path we though there would be good food since that's where the caribou went" she paused "but our pack got attacked by hunters and we scratted myself and a few others came back here. Oh how I do hope she's still alive"

(ooc: *hasn't seen the third movie* Wait do all of Balto's litter know they're part wolf now? Or was it just Kodi and Aleu?) Kiona looked at the male wolf, a dumbstruck expression on her face. Wow. "Well, I can tell you, I have no intention to pull your tail OR punch you." she gave a nervous laugh. She shook her head quickly. "I'm a husky. Name's Kiona and you?" she cocked her deep red and white muzzled head to the right. She'd settled back down onto her rump.
"I've never seen you around," and she turned her head to Yareli, "Or you!" They looked slightly more feral than the other huskies and malamutes. Lean but puffy, strong and graceful but also wild. Though the male seemed quiet tame and friendly, something she found sort of odd. She turned her head to her mom, as if realizing to late that she'd been talking to strangers. She gave her mother a sheepish grin before turning back to the two newcomers.
"Aleu? You know Aleu!" her tail began to wag, "She's my sister..." she lowered her voice. They new Aleu! She'd missed her sister some, having not seen her around for a long while, she'd hear, or well knew she ran away but still...

"yes i know her" the wolf nods her head "so your her sister huh?" Yareli smiles at Kiona "in some ways you remind me of Aleu" she laughs lightly "my name is Yareli as you can already guess i was part of Aleu's pack" the brown wolf tells the husky.

Ears flicking back, the purebred husky gave a growl. WOLVES. Why were there so many bloody wolves around here? He growled, backing into the woman and pressing his fur against hers. He snorted and looked up at her.
"Well since you know I can talk," he said words pouring from his articulate maw, "Maybe we should have a chat. My name's Steele. And you're correct, things aren't going my way today lady."
