(ooc: January 3. Crossover time for Bambi and Fox and the Hound characters. ) Tod had ventured farther than ever before. He had set out early that morning from Widow Tweed's farm, fully intent on adventuring that day, and without making sure that Copper was behind him still he had bounded on ahead into the forest. The wind blew through his scruffy fur, making him laugh as it tickled him. This was great! Tod didn't even care that he was getting a bit tired. He wanted to explore, and by golly he was going to explore farther than he had ever gone! All he would have to do was ask Copper to smell their way back. A good thing about having the hound as a friend was having a reliable way back home. At last, Tod came to a stop and sat down. His tail wrapped around his body as he began to pant, trying to catch his breath, and he began to look around the surrounding area. It definitely was unknown as far as he could tell. He had never been so far from home before. "Boy... this sure is great. I bet this place would be great for hide and seek." Tod said. Just when he was about to turn around and make sure Copper was behind him, his ears twitched. It sounded as if someone else might have been in the surrounding area. Confused, Tod turned to try and see what, or who, might be there. "Wh-Who's there?" Tod asked.

Stepping out of the brush was the Great Prince. This regal animal was there, standing, surveying his surroundings. His child, Bambi was off playing with his friends. The deer stared down at the animal who had demanded who was there.
"A fox kit," he said, looking about. Foxes weren't a threat to him. But where was the child's mother? He inquired as much. "Where is your mother?" He asked softly.

Tod blinked, surprised by both the question and the size of the animal before him. He'd never seen a deer before. The only animals he had had experience with were chickens, cows, and dogs. The question regarding his mother took him by surprise more so because no one had ever asked it before. Not Copper, none of the other animals that lived around the farm... he had just never thought about it much before. At last, Tod gave a little shrug in response.
"Well... she's not here. I didn't know her very long." Tod replied, his gaze shifting to the ground briefly as he considered what he had said. All he knew was that his mother had been protecting him somehow. He gestured a paw in the direction he had come from after a moment, feeling he should explain where he had come from since he didn't know the area. "I live somewhere off that way with my friend Copper. We were going to explore this area today." he explained.

Poor thing. He had no mother? Just like Bambi. It was so sad that nature could be so cruel. His ears flicked back as he breathed in deeply, sighing softly. He was here today to play. He smiled softly down at the boy.
"Well, young man," he said , "Welcome to the forest. And this Copper, he is another fox?" He felt he should know who was in his forest after all.

Copper sniffs trying to catch on to Tod's scent as entered the Great Forest. He had been trying to catch up with Tod for what seemed like miles and hours by now. "Tod? Tod where are ya buddy? "Copper called out he smiles. Maybe he was all ready playing Hide and Seek. Or maybe he was planning a playful sneak attack when Tod would pounce on Copper at any given moment now. Copper sniffs again till just then he saw his best friend, talking to a huge animal.
Copper sneaks up behind Tod and goes to playfully pounce his best friend. "Gotcha" Copper howled happily. And then Copper looks up at the Great Prince. Copper gulps.
"Hello there sir" Copper said trying to act as polite as possible just in case this huge creature was just as bad if not worse then Chief.

"Doof!" Tod felt himself being knocked to the ground by someone roughly his size, but obviously not in a malicious manner. The young fox looked up and grinned a little when he saw that it was, in fact, Copper that had pounced him. "There you are, Copper! I was beginning to wonder where you'd gotten to." Tod laughed. He remembered the Prince was also there, and looked to him again. Now he could explain that Copper was a hound a lot better than he could have before.
"This is Copper. He's my best friend, like I said." Tod said. He wondered how the deer would react. Big Mama had said that it wasn't natural for Tod to be friends with Copper, so maybe the same applied to other forest animals.

Ears flicked forward as he saw the dog approach. He was about to stomp on the animal when he saw the fox was friends with the dog. It was insane. Crazy. Just like his son being friends with a rabbit but worse. He shook his head.
"A fox and a hound," he mused, "How...interesting..." So long as the pup didn't have friends, the Prince could maybe keep an eye on him and the fox. "You have no...others in the forest, do you boy?" He asked this question to Copper, leaning down his head to get on their level.

"No, Tod's my only friend. I don't have any more friends with them or anything. " Copper said not really counting the singing strays. Copper could tell that this deer seemed very cautious of him. Almost as if he wasn't too sure what to think of him. Copper had no real reason why he was being as kind and nice as he could to the deer. What was him problem with him? But, for the moment Copper decided to write it off. He could try to convince this deer he meant no trouble at all by playing nicely with Tod.
"So Tod, do you want to play Hide and Seek or maybe Tag"? Copper asked.

Tod nodded quickly as Copper mentioned how he was his only friend. "Back where we're from, there aren't a lot of kids our age around to play with. Usually we don't get too far into the forest to play, but today we decided to explore." Tod explained. He opened his mouth to answer Copper's question of what they should do, but then closed it as he thought it over. Hide and seek could be fun, but so could tag. Then again, they were in a new area. Maybe if they explored, they could find new playmates! "I've got an idea, Copper. How about we see if we can find anyone else to play with here?" Tod asked.
He looked to the Great Prince again, smiling sheepishly. "That is, if there's anyone else around to play with." he added sheepishly.

"That is a great idea, Tod. If we could find some more playmates our games will be so much more fun. Tag and Hide and Seek are better with more then 2 kids anyway" Copper said panting happily. Loving the idea of making more friends.

The prince smiled. "Perhaps I can find you another playmate. My son Bambi and his friend Faline would probably love to play with you." He was still wary about the dog but the fox seemed normal, not sane for playing with a hound dog but still normal. The deer prince walked gracefully over the children and back into the forest. He would keep an eye on them but from a distance.
