A Day in the Pridelands

[Kopa]

Kopa followed along, trying to make as least noise as possible. "Um... How about the old one?" he asked, aslo noticing the limping zebra. He bunched his haunches together. He was literally trembling in excitement. He could already see his father's face when he walked back home with a whole zebra in his mouth.

[Mega]

"ok...GO!" Mega said as he brusts out of the tall grass with a thundering roar as soon as the herd of zebra spotted him they took off quicky the male lion cut off the wounded horse blocking it's path to escape. "Alright Kopa you know that to do" a claws swipe across the zebra's back as Mega downs the animal pinning it to the ground.

[Kopa]

Kopa stood for a moment in his place and watched wide eyed as Mega tore out of the tall grass. He watched as the zebra crashed to the ground a couple feet away. "Oh..Right!" The cub sprang towards the zebra and bit as deep a he could into it's neck. He could already feel the savory flavors setting in. He dug his claws in deeper, oblivious to everything else. He wanted to make his first hunt sucessful, and he intended that to happen.

[Mega]

the old zebra fails it's legs as the cub bites it throat "harder" Mega said his voice muffled from his mouth that was currently around the zebra's snout as he suffacates the horse "that's i-" a sharp pain rippes across his snout as a front hoof of the zebra strikes his muzzle "grah!" the male growls in pain. "screw this!" Mega growls as his jaws closer tigher on the zebra's snout suffacateing it to death as Kopa was strangiling it by it's throat. the old zebra goes limp.

[Kopa]

Kopa watched in shock as Mega was struck in the face, yet he didn't let go. As soon as he knew the zebra was dead, he let go of it and raced over to Mega's side. "Are you okay?!" he cried, his excitement quickly turning into fear. "Is it bleeding?!" He shivered. Now he knew why his parents didn't want him to go hunting.

[Akili]

"How impressive, both of you." Akili stated with a smile. "Very good for a pair of males. Ya know, not meant to offend, but lionesses usually are the ones hunting. Glad to see some lions can actually fend for themselves." The lioness happily said, her tail flickering behind her.

[Mega]

"yeah, I'm fine Kopa" Mega wipes away the blood running down his muzzle from his nose with the back of his paw. the lion then turns to Akili "ah thank you Akili i sometimes hunt for my pride myself back home" he boasts a slick grin now on his bloodied face.

[Kopa]

Kopa turned to face Akili. "Th-Thanks.." he said, feeling slightly embarressed. He licked the blood from around his muzzle. But it had all been worth it. "Wow! I can't believe we actually did it!" he exclaimed. He puffed his chest out in pride. "Wait 'till I tell Kiara! She'll never believe it!" Well, it would be hard to believe a lion cub took down a zebra. But with Mega and Akili as witnesses, everyone would have to believe him.

His stomach growled. He smiled at Mega. "Let's eat!" he said. He was about to head back towards the zebra when he realized he forgot Akili. "Hey, do you want some too Akili?" he asked the blu-eyed lioness.

[Mega]

"yeah join us Akili!" Mega's head pulls up a peice of meat dangling from his jaws he quicky snatches it up and swallows it down in one glup. "ah wonderful!" he cackles and rips into the carcass some more.

[Akili]

"Well, I..." Akili was going to say she was not hungry, since she didn't do anything to get that zebra, but her stomach betrayed her with a low grumble. She turned back to Mega and Kopa sheepishly and said, "Well, if you insist, I guess I could have a small piece." She saqid with a smile, and padded towards them, sitting beside Kopa. "thank you." She said, before tearing a piece of meat and eating it herself.

[Kopa]

Kopa smiled. "No problem! I'm gonna be king one day so I have to look out for everyone." he answered. He bent over and tugged at the carcass. Man, was this stuff stringy. He pulled harder, until he almost fell over from pulling a chunck of meat off. He swallowed. He knew his mother wouldn't approve of his manners, but hey, she wasn't here. "Hey Akili, would you ever consider joining a pride?" he asked. She looked so much like a pridelander she could fit right in if she wanted to.

[Akili]

Akili finished eating her second or third piece of meat and looked down at Kopa. "And you are going to be an awesome king. I mean, look at you! A strong cub that cares for others? Mmhmm, that is the kind of lion that should rule every pride." She said with a smile on her muzzle. The lioness giggled when Kopa ripped the piece of meat, not without some effort. Her ears then perked at his question. "Well, I've visited almost every place at the reach of my paws, so maybe I should find a pride to stay soon."

[Kopa]

Kopa blushed at Akili's compliment. He definitely wouldn't mind her staying around. "Maybe you could join my pride, then you wouldn't need to travel around all the time." he suggested. "I'm sure my mom and dad wouldn't mind another lioness staying here."

[Akili]

Akili watched as Kopa blushed and just smiled, tearing another piece of Zebra up. Then, she heard him say that she could stay. well, that was not a bad idea, at all. After all, she had already traveled far enough, and she didn't want to run into non-friendly prides who would not accept her. "Hmmm..." she said, swallowing the meat piece she had on her mouth, "Perhaps it is a good idea to stay here." She said with a grin, "I mean, if you or your parents don't mind my presence."

[Kopa]

Kopa jumped to his paws. "No! They wouldn't mind at all!" he exclaimed quickly. HIs crimson orbs widened. "So does that mean you'll stay?" Why did it seem he had grown attached to the two lions he had just met today? Maybe because he didn't have a lot of people to interact with around the pridelands. "Pleeeeeeease?" he said, giving a wide toothy grin.
