Down At the Coast

[Aleu]

(Takes place at the beach near Balto's place during the summer in Aleu and her siblings puppyhood. Open to her family and Boris)

Aleu raced up and down the beach, her tongue lolling happily out the side of her
mouth. The water was finally warm enough for her to go swimming in, and she couldn't wait to get her paws wet. She skidded to a stop at the water's edge, sniffing the salty water that lapped up against the sand.

The young pup poked the water testingly. It felt...Good! She smiled and jumped into the water, barking in joy. Boy, what fun was this! If only her brothers and sisters were here to see this!

[Dingo]

"aleu!" the voice of Dingo barks out from the shore a few feet away from his sister "there you are! i was looking for you" Dingo goes down his rump in the air in a playbow.

[Aleu]

"Dingo!" Aleu spun around to face her brother. A wide smile spread across her face. She rushed out of the water to the red furred dog batted at his ear playfully. She then gave her wet fur a shake, causing water to fly everywhere. "Have you felt the water? It's amazing!" she exclaimed, her blue eyes sparkling. "I've never been swimming before!"

[Dingo]

"ah ha!" the small white and red husky mix laughs as he lightly grabs onto his sisters ear and pulls in retalation for what she did. "i love the water" he said now letting go of the brown colored ear. Dingo backs up his butt wagging in the air and springs forward and tackles his sister playfully.

[Aleu]

Aleu hit the ground as her brother tackled her. She laughed and kicked him off with her hind legs, sending him flying into the water. She wagged her tail rapidly in amusement. "There! Now you're all wet too!" she giggled. What an awesome day this was turning out to be. Hopefully the rest of her family woul show up to join in on the fun.

[Jenna]

Jenna smiled as she watched the two of her pups playing in the water. It was at times like these when she loved being a parent, when she could just forget the cares of motherhood and enjoy watching as her kids playing together. She wasn't worried about the rest of her pups - presumably Balto was keeping an eye on them, wherever they were, not to mention that, with Steele gone and Balto a hero, her family really wasn't in any danger around Nome.

After watching as the splashed each other for a few moments, Jenna rose from her position and padded towards Aleu and Dingo, feeling the sun-warmed sand under her paws. Approaching the two young canines, but keeping enough distance to avoid getting splashed herself, Jenna addressed her pups casually. "I see you two are enjoying the water."

(OOC: Forgive me if I don't get Jenna's relationship with her pups entirely right - I only saw Wolf Quest once, and couldn't find any clips on YouTube either, so I can't really remember how she ought to interact with them)

[Aleu]

Aleu turned around to see her mother standing on the shore. Her tail wagged faster. "Hi mom! Did you see me?! Did you see me?!I was swimming!" she exclaimed, puffing her chest out in pride. She smiled up at the red husky. "You should come in with us! The water feels so good between your paws!" The wolf-like pup jumped around in the tiny waves laughing, splashing water everywhere.

[Dingo]

"GRR oh yeah!" Dingo said getting up from the shallow water to his paws and shakes his fur free of water getting Aleu wet in the process. "now i'll-" Dingo stops as he spots Jenna "Mom!" he barks happily as she walks towards them he bounds out of the water and towards her nuzzleing her forepaws "can you play with us? please!"

[Boris]

Boris was perched on the edge of the boat, humming a little song to himself. He looked down and saw the puppies playing about. He smiled. They reminded him of when he and Balto used to play there. He would run and BALTO would chase after him, then when Balto caught up he would push the snow goose to the ground. Then Boris would run after him and it would go on and on until one of them got tired. Normally that one was Boris. Then inside the boat Boris would tell the young pup stories and lull him to sleep. But sadly, those times where over now. Now Balto had his own pups. More pups for Boris to play with! Speaking of playing..."Hey kids!" he called as he jumped down from the boat. "Catch me if you can!" he chanted as he ran along the shore of the little lagoon. Hoping to engage in a game with them.

[Jenna]

Jenna chuckled gently as both pups begged her to join in with them, Dingo even coming up to nuzzle her paws. Before the red-furred pup had a chance to retreat, she leant down and licked the top of his head affectionately. "I think I could manage that." she replied good-naturedly, trotting towards the water behind her son. The mother husky loved spending time with her pups, and while she had been intending to keep her distance from the sea, the prospect of getting wet didn't bother her either. Within moments, she was standing up to her knees in the water, feeling its warmth between her paws. Aleu had been right - it did feel good. Stiring the water gently with a forepaw, Jenna sent a couple of gentle waves towards her daughter.

As a familiar russian voice cut into the moment, Jenna unnecessarily turned her head to see Balto's goose friend approaching them. He seemed to want to engage the two pups in a chasing game, and the adult husky just watched with a smile, idly wondering whether Dingo and Aleu would choose to follow his lead or stay in the water with her.

[Aleu]

Aleu watched as her mother descended into the water with her. Her eyes filled with happiness. "That's it, mom! Doesn't it feel-" she was cut off as the husky sent water flying at her. She close her eyes as it fell on her head, then grinned mischieviously. She was about to retaliate when she too heard the fimiliar russian voice.

Her head ehipped around. "UNCLE BRORIS!!!" she yelled in glee. She hesitated, and looked at her mom. Should she stay? Now that her brother and her had finally persuaded her to join them in the water? She glanced back on the shore as Boris began to run. She shifted her weight paw to paw. But there was this feeling inside her to chase after him. Letting out a playful bark the little pup shot out of the water and followed after the goose, tripping a couple of times. "I'm gonna get 'cha!" she exclaimed rambunctiously.

[Kiona]

Kiona ran up from behind a rock, she'd just decided to come down to the beach after her mother, sister, and brother. Her little mind was suddenly side tracked. The flash of white feathers and a thick russian accent zoomed by, and her white paws gave chase, her tongue lolling out for a moment, running for the goose by her sister. Her brown eyes widened and blinking quickly at her unimpressive speed. After a while though- which probably wasn't to long in reality- the pup got bored, stopping for a bit to catch her breath. Turning and sucking in air, she saw a familiar red pelt in the water.

"MOM!" The young pup crowed, trotting to the water, tongue still hanging out of her small jaws. The wet sand of the beach sucked at her paws and she picked up speed, not enjoying the feeling. She took a leap into the cold water, the small waves causing enough force under her to slap water under her chin and across her chest. Her long fur now soaked and dangling in clumped strands. The water was surprisingly warm compared to the usual weather.

Coming up beside her mom, paddling with her paws every time a wave came in, briefly lifting her from the wet ground beneath her. She rubbed her wet head against her mom's foreleg, looking up, tongue lolling out to reveal her sharp, white puppy teeth.

[Boris]

"Cant catch me! Can't catch me!" Boris chanted, skipping merrily like a little girl, he turned to the pup that looked so much like her father. Her father. Oh how Boris missed the days when Balto was a pup. The days when he, Balto, Muk and Luk would all play wrestle and Boris would always let them win. The days when they would all dress up as Scouts and Boris would take them camping, and they would always get lost and Balto would end up finding their way back. When Balto would talk to Jenna and Boris would follow from behind a bin giving him advice. When Balto, Muk and Luk would get a cardboard box and sail in the little pools with Boris as their hostage. How Boris wishe he could turn back time to Baltos puphood. Boris smiled, it was this one moment that gave Aleu the upper paw. "AAAHHH!" He screamed as he was pushed to the ground by the pup. "Hehehe! Stop it tickles!" he laughed as he looked at the pup atop of him. (Hope you don't mind a bit of god offing for the sake of humor.)

[Aleu]

(ooc: It's fine. ^ ^ I completely fine with god-modding if it's not too much.)

Aleu laughed as she collided with the goose. She put a paw to her chest. "I'm the fastest, ANd the smartest!" she boasted, putting her muzzle up in pride. She knew her dad wouldn't like her talking like that, but hey, he wasn't here. She blinked her blue eyes. "Hey, I've been practicing my howling! Listen!" The little pup jumped off her uncle and onto a small piece of driftwood sticking out of the sand.

She lifted her head and let out a tiny puppy howl, the ear-splitting noise traveling across the beach. She was the only one out of her siblings who could howl the best. It was her own special talent, and she was very proud of it.

[Boris]

Boris smiled as she boasted about herself, just like her father, he always claimed to be the fastest, the strongest, the smartest. Little Balto, always the best at everything, or so he always told Boris and Jenna. He put up a wing and whisperd to the puppy on top of him. "Your father vill not like you talking like that, but what he won't know won't hurt him! He used to talk like that aswell!"

He smiled as he heard her howl, yet another thing she and Balto had in common. He got up and dusted himself off and waddeld over to her, the sound of her howl echoing in his earholes. "You are a very good howler Aleu! Actually..." he pretended to look around and then leaned in closer. "Your better than your father when he was your age!" he sincerely meant this. "When you get bigger, you'll be world famous as the dog who can howl like a wolf! Dogs will come from all over the world to hear you howl! And when you howl, wolves will come out of the forest, thinking they heard a wolf! And the great spirits will look upon you and shine their lights, especially for you Aleu!" He pressed a feather against her body. This might have exaggerating a little bit, but it would make Alue happy. And when the pups were happy, Boris was happy.
