Aleu flattened down the fur on her head hastily. She frowned. "I know, I know. I'm sorry." she grumbled. She looked bacl up at her mother more despretely. "But... She doesn't understand! Does she know what it feels like having these strange insticnts to run and howl? No!" she protested. It irked the sandy brown canine that she seemed to have the stregnth and stamina that none of her other siblings seemed to have.
That's when the little pup remembered what Boris had said about the wolves. She still didn't know entirely what a wolf actually was, but it sounded like it was much more fun than being a dog. "I don't wanna be a dog anymore! I wanna be a wolf!" she declared.

"That's not true." A familiar voice said from behind Dakota. It was the voice of her father. He heard the pups arguing and decided it was best to take care of the situation. He didn't want his pups to hate eachother. "I don't think she's better than you. You're all special in your own way." Balto replied to the depressed pup. Her last sentence had hurt him. He had failed to be a good father if she honestly thought that about him. He didn't mean to make her feel that way. He never intended to. He loved all of his pups. He had to cheer her up somehow. He didn't want Dakota to be upset. He lowered his head so he was face-level with the little pup. "Hey, why don't we have a race across the beach?" Balto asked with a smile. Dakota's ears perked slightly as her father's voice was heard, flattening her ears into her skull. She remained motionless until Balto's face reached her own level, and she didn't dare to look into his eyes. Not until he mentioned the race, it was. She hesitated for a moment, but her tail started to wag eagerly a few moments after. The pup jumped off of the rock and began padding forward. "Can't catch me, Papa!" The pup teased as she began racing through the seaside. She liked to run with her father when he wasn't helping Kodi be faster. She liked to be around Balto itself. The pup looked back, slowering her pace a little, waiting for her half-wolf father to run.

Balto's smile grew as he watched his daughter run across the sandy earth. "Ha ha, we'll see!" Balto replied to Dakota's teasing. The wolf-dog dashed past her, but then he slowed down after he had passed her, so that Dakota would have a chance to catch up.
He enjoyed spending time with his pups. Children were the greatest gifts that parents could have. He remembered the day when he saw his pups for the first time. He was surprised, and rather proud.
(OOC:I hope I'm playing Balto okay. Sorry if I'm a bit off. ^^')

((OOC: Your Balto is perfect, don't worry! ^^))
The husky-like pup growled playfully as her father ran past her, dashing towards him to catch up. Once she achieved her goal, she ran side-by-side with her beloved father, her idol, her shining star. Oh yes, Dakota loved her father. He was the greatest dad in the world. She had said the things she had just because she was jealous, but Balto did care for her, and she knew it.

"hey Dad, Dakota wait up!" Dingo yelps as he races out of the shallow water to catch up to his sister and father. "i bet you can't out run me sis!" the red furred husky mix barks playfully as he gently bumps his sister in the side now having caught up with her.

Boris smiled as he watched Balto race his pups. He, Balto, Muk and Luk would always do the excact same thing. Of course Balto would always win, but Boris, Muk and Luk would sometimes catch up using their secret weapon. Secret weapon! His eyes fell upon a cardboard box. Next to it was a skateboard, some tape, two golf clubs, a big stick, and a picknick mat. Moments later, he had assembled a "Ship" using the box as the place where you stand and sit. The stick as the mast. The golf clubs as oars, the picknick mat as a sail, and the skateboard strapped to the bottom of the box. "Hmm." he said,"Strong wind for sailing, no rocks, looks like a perfect day for the Borismobile!" He jumped in and sped up to Aleu. "Get in Aleu!" he squaked, "We'll show them whose the fastest on the beach!"

(OOC:Thank you. ^^)
Balto looked at his daughter with a smile. "Wow, you're really getting fast." Balto complimented. He was trying to make sure he didn't run past her, so they could stay side-by-side. He was glad he was able to cheer her up. He didn't like seeing his pups being upset.
Balto heard the voice of his son and looked behind him. "Hey Dingo." Balto said. His smile grew as he saw his son catch up. This was another moment he would always remember. He loved spending time with his pups. He couldn't bare to let them go.

Dakota laughed as her dark.coated brother ran catched up with them. "I could! But we'd leave Daddy behind!" She said playfully, then turning her head at Balto, still running non-stop, and the smile on her muzzle grew wider. "Do you really think so?" She hopefully asked, glad that she seemed less useless now. Her tail happily wagged as she said, "Thanks, dad." And kept running forward, still side by side with her father. She would have liked for this moment to last forever.

Aleu flattened down the fur on her head hastily. She frowned. "I know, I know. I'm sorry." she grumbled. She looked back up at her mother more despretely. "But... She doesn't understand! Does she know what it feels like having these strange instincts to run and howl? No!" she protested. It irked the sandy brown canine that she seemed to have the stregnth and stamina that none of her other siblings seemed to have. That's when the little pup remembered what Boris had said about the wolves. She still didn't know entirely what a wolf actually was, but it sounded like it was much more fun than being a dog. "I don't wanna be a dog anymore! I wanna be a wolf!" she declared. It seemed to take a while for Jenna to respond. She wasn't entirely sure how to answer her daughter, not since she and Balto had agreed not to tell Aleu just how much like a wolf she truly was, at least until the pup was much older. Maybe not even then - there was no telling how the often-unpredictable pup might react. "I think you should just be glad to be what you are." she replied carefully, making certain not to let on that the girl was already more like a wolf than a dog. "You inherited those instincts from your father," she explained, not altogether unwillingly pushing any further discussion of the subject onto Balto. She wasn't purposefully backing out of talking to Aleu about the matter, but the adult husky had a feeling Balto would hold more of the answers the pup was looking for than she did. "He would be able to explain them better than I can." Glancing down the beach to see Balto running with their pups, Jenna's current state of irritation at her daughters' bickering seemed to ease. "Why not see if you can catch up to your dad?" she suggested, hoping to both lighten her daughter's mood and direct her attention away from the subject of wolves.

"Hey dad" the small pup barks out now racing to his fathers side leaping up in the air and to try and snag a hold on one of his fathers ears. "come play dad!" he growls out his sharp little puppy teeth exposed. "come on Dakota join in!" he urges his sister his white and red tail waving like a flag.

Aleu didn't respond at first. It took her a little time to comprehend what the red husky was saying. Why eould her father know anything about wolves? She turned around and saw how far her dad and her siblings were. "I don't wanna run with them." she pouted. There was no way she could catch up by now. Besides, she wanted to stay as far from Dakota as possible right now.
She looked at Boris and her eyes widened. "What is that?" she asked in wonder.

Well, she hadn't entirely been unexpecting that. Aleu and her sister seemed to be separated by a grudge about a mile wide - and Jenna was, in fact, almost relieved by her refusal; if the wolf-like pup had caught up with the others, that would have just given her something else to rub in Dakota's face. Sometimes the mother wondered why her pups couldn't just all get on fine with each other - although admittedly, she had never got on with her own littermates at that age.
To her relief, Boris picked that moment to pop up and distract Aleu. While she couldn't say that she always appreciated the goose's presence, his arrival with whatever contraption he had there was certainly timely. She hoped that Aleu's 'uncle' would be enough to lighten the grey-furred pup's mood and take Aleu's mind off her troubles for now.

"This" Boris said. "Is my car, my boat, and sometimes my plane when its an especially windy and I just so happen to find myself at the top of a cliff. It is built using a cardboard box for the hull-thingie, a skate board for wheels, a big stick for the mast, a picknick mat for the sail to gain speed, these hockey sticks for steering, and this incase I get hungry!" he said, as he pulled out an apple from a little canister. "Oh wait. I dont have teeth! I cant eat this!" He frowend and turned, "Hey Dingo! Have an apple! Youse it as a ball or something!" he shouted as he threw the fruit to Dingo. Then he turned to Aleu "She's bound to go faster than any husky born! Hop in and we'll show your daddy whose the fastest!"

Aleu wagged her tail in excitement. "That's so cool!" she exclaimed. Sometimes it astounded her how creative that goose could be. Initially she wasn't interested in catching up with her dad. But now, seeing this contraption, she had no doubt they could match their pace. She stumbled towards the box and jumped inside it, putting her paws on the edges. She grinned mischieviously to herself. She'd show Dakota.
"Ready to go, Uncle Boris!" she said, excitement lighting up in her eyes. She turned to look at Jenna. "C'mon, Mom! Come run with us!"

"Hop in Landlubber!" Boris commanded putting on a pirateish accent. "High winds! Check. Smooth ground! Check. Pre chase snack!" he paused, then took out a fishing rod out of a box in the box, cast it into the lagoon, and moments later had fished out a mollusc and had eaten it. "Check! All clear for sailing first mate Aleu! Oh wait! One final adjustment!" he said, as he pulled out four more items from the box. "A pirate hat for you." he said as he placed a pirate hat onto Alue's head, " And an eyepatch for uncle Boris!" he put the eyepatch on his eye and then handed Alue a treasure map which showed the boat, the town of Nome, the nearby forest, and the "Borismobile" in which was a poorly drawn husky puppy and a goose. "You hold that and make sure we don't get blown off course, while I look through this telescope." "We'd better be going, no more time for humbugging about! Man the oars! Swab the poop deck! Do other piratey stuff!" Boris shouted, to no one in particular, as he began to row, "Aleu! Blow on the sail to give it an extra boost! We'll catch up with them yet!" Soon they were level with the huskie, "Hey Balto!" the goose taunted "Cant catch us!"
